McCloud becomes the third player to leave the Clemson football program this offseason.
Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Tony Willis did not return to school this semester, and junior cornerback Justin Miller has declared for the 2005 NFL Draft.
McCloud spent time on both sides of the ball during his time at Clemson. Originally a defensive back, he was then moved to wide receiver.
McCloud failed to record a catch in four games of action in 2004. He also played as a rover in 2003, recording four tackles in limited action.
The Jacksonville native was rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com in the 2002 recruiting class at Clemson.
