Your thoughts on the season opening win?
Leggett: Well it's always good to get the first win behind you. I thought we played well. We played really good on defense. Josh Cribb threw strikes for us and did a good job. Jeff Hahn came on and threw some real sharp innings for us. And then Drew Fiorenza did a nice job at the end of the game. We came out swinging the bats early and that made some good things happen for us offensively and we loosened up a little bit. Then we got a little quiet during the middle part of the game, but I think our timing will continue to get a little bit better every day. I was really pleased with how our young kids played.
Starting those three freshmen through the middle of your defense...how did you feel those guys did in the field?
Leggett: I thought they did great. Taylor Harbin had a great day. First swing is a double and gets another base hit and ran the bases well. Stan Widmann made the plays he had to make and he's going to be a real good one for us. And then Chalk, he had the two RBI and the double. He's just a good solid player. I'm real pleased. You know nothing seems to bother those guys. At least not yet. They'll get as much action as they need to and they'll continue to get better and better.
What did you like about Cribb's performance?
Leggett: Well he threw strikes. He was a little bit off in early part of the ball game, not quite working down in the zone like he normally does. He can make those corrections. He's got to get his change up working a little better. I thought his side arm curve ball was pretty good. He made some big pitches when he had to when he had a couple of men on base. No innings ever got out of control.
Now you've got Coastal Carolina tomorrow. They should be another quality team.
Leggett: They are a good team, and they always play us very tough. I know they have a lot of lefthanded hitters in the line up. They always play well against us and they will have a good home crowd. We had a good turnout here today, so hopefully our fans will come back out too.
