Chansi Stuckey is a Tiger

The wave of recruiting momentum continues as QB Chansi Stuckey out of Warner Robbins, Georgia becomes the latest blue chip recruit to commit to Tommy Bowden. Stuckey led Northside High School to the 2001 state championship game against Parkview and fellow Clemson commitment Jeff Francouer.

Chansi Stuckey, the Georgia AAAAA State Player of the Year, has finally decided where he'll attend college- and its Clemson University.

Stuckey passed for 2,344 yards and 17 touchdowns this past season for Northside High School. He also rushed for 856 yards and 15 more touchdowns, and was the main reason for his team's romp through the AAAAA playoffs. Chansi is described as an athlete with outstanding quickness and a strong arm. He also is an excellent passer while on the run.

Thats one down and two to go if you are a Clemson recruiting junkie like myself. Stuckey (6'0, 170) represented one of the top athletes still left on the board, along with Justin Miller and one more quality offensive lineman. With his commitment, it will almost certainly glue the Tigers into a Top 20 recruiting class.

Chansi had offers from every major Division I-A program in the southeast, including Florida State, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Auburn, and LSU. He is also fully qualified with a 3.5 GPA and an 870 on his SAT.

"I like the small town, the coaches and players. They know how to treat you," said Stuckey after his most recent official visit to Clemson.

Stuckey told Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden about his decision late Saturday evening. In the end, he chose the Tigers over Tennessee and Georgia Tech. Clemson assistant coach Rodney Allison recruited Stuckey for the Tigers. He represents the 23rd commitment to the 2002 class.
