Hammonds Named Rookie of the Week
In earning the ACC Rookie of the Week award for the fourth time this season, Clemson's Cliff Hammonds averaged 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in victories over Maryland and Florida State. In Tuesday's 97-93 win at Maryland, the 6-3, 175-pound freshman from Cairo, Ga., had 12 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes of play. In Sunday's 83-74 victory over Florida State, Hammonds had 10 points and four assists in 31 minutes of play. This is the fourth time Hammonds has been named ACC Rookie of the week, a record for a Clemson player.
