New Offer for Hanna DL

After a two week span in which he went from zero offers to three, Ben Alexander of T.L. Hanna has seen a growth in interest, but hasn't seen a new scholarship offer in about two weeks.

The 6-foot-1, 288-pounder brought his cold streak to an end yesterday when the Hokies tendered him.

"I checked my mail at school and I had a letter in there from Virginia Tech," said Alexander. "It said they were confirming their offer to attend the University. The Virginia Tech coach called coach today and talked about my offer."

Duke, Florida State, and Georgia Tech round out the remainder of Alexander's offers list. In-state schools Clemson and South Carolina are noticeably missing names from that list. Regardless, Alexander made campus stops to both Palmetto State schools recently.

"I took an unofficial visit to Clemson two weekends ago and then this past Saturday I took an unofficial visit to the University of South Carolina's junior day," said Alexander. "Clemson was really nice. The coaching staff was great and the players seemed really excited to be out there.

"I liked South Carolina. I really liked the Williams-Brice Stadium. There were a lot of people there to watch the spring practice. They were really excited so it seems like they have some good fans down there."

Alexander will continue with campus tours in April when he visits Duke (April 2nd), Georgia Tech (April 9th), and Florida State (April 16th). Top Stories
