DE/LB Dekoda Watson
6-4, 210, 4.6
South Aiken High School
Aiken, South Carolina
The 6-4, 210 pound prospect has not been able to attend as many spring practices, as he would have like over the past few weeks. "I did go to Georgia though. I really enjoyed that one. I have had to take the SAT and had some family issues," Watson told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
Clemson will get a visit from the prize recruit soon, as Watson has already planned to visit the Tigers for their upcoming spring game. "Yeah, I plan to go up to Clemson for the spring game in a few weeks," said Watson. "I'm looking forward to it."
The interest is growing quickly for the South Aiken defensive end. "I don't have any offers yet. I am getting interest from Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson and Florida State."
When asked if he has any favorites or a leader, Watson responded, "I would say Florida State and Georgia right now."
Who is recruiting the Palmetto standout the hardest at this time? "Auburn, South Carolina and Georgia are showing the most interest."
Watson's camp plans are also up in the air at this time. "We are planning to go to some different camps. Georgia wants us to come and Clemson wants us as well. I plan to go to some with my teammates Jake and Ben," said Watson.
The strengths for this prize recruit are numerous. "My strengths are my speed and my reaction to the ball. I would also include my reach because of the length of my arms."
Watson plans to work hard over the next few months so he can be even better next year for South Aiken. "I am doing track now. Track always helps me get better. After track is over I will hit the weight room."
Don't expect an early commitment from Watson. "I will play it as it comes. I don't want to rush into one school. I plan to just roll with it."
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defender from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2006.
