Tigers Tops for DT

Already holding his first offer, Ben Anderson, a big defensive tackle out of South Aiken (S.C.) High School, knows that recruiting can be a lot of fun and he is trying to take advantage of it.

"It's going really good so far," said the 6-foot-2, 265 pounder who found out about his offer from Georiga Tech a few weeks ago. "I talked to one of their coaches, he sent me a letter asking me to call when I got a chance, I did, and he said that I had an offer coming soon. He said that the defensive line coach there was real excited about me."

The offer came as a surprise to Anderson, and he is hoping that more schools will follow suit.

"I wasn't expecting offers at all this early. One of our players last year had an offer right before spring practice, but I didn't think that I would get one especially from Georgia Tech because I have never been there before."

Things are not finished for Anderson as he wants to take in more road trips and see just what these schools are offering on-campus.

"Coming up I am visiting Georgia and Georgia Tech. I have been to North Carolina, South Carolina, and Clemson. I've always liked Clemson ever since I was little, so I guess they are at the top of my list, and South Carolina is really catching my attention, too. I should be attending the Clemson Orange and White game this spring."

Saying he would like to wait before making a final decision, Anderson is wary of picking a school and committing before some of his favorites have a chance to send a scholarship. "I kind of want to wait and see what other schools come and offer."

Anderson will attend the Scout.com U.S. Army All-American Combine at Auburn on April 30.
