SC LB Owns Clemson Offer

Gaffney standout Julius Wilkerson recently received his first offer when he spoke with a Clemson coach.

The 6-3, 200 pound prospect recently picked up a scholarship offer from the Tigers. "Yeah, Clemson was my first offer. I got it over the phone when I spoke with Coach Blackwell a few weeks ago. I don't have any other offers yet. South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Michigan and North Carolina State are all showing interest," said Wilkerson.

When asked if he has a leader or any early favorites, Wilkerson responded, "No, not yet."

The blue-chip linebacker recently traveled to Clemson to see the Tigers practice. "I went to Clemson for spring practice with my parents. I had a good time. I enjoyed the practice."

The Gamecocks will also get a visit from the prize recruit. "I am also going to visit South Carolina for spring practice. I'm not sure when I will go," added Wilkerson.

The Tigers will get another chance to impress the Gaffney standout later this spring. "I plan to go to the spring game at Clemson," stated Wilkerson.

Don't expect an early commitment from the Palmetto defender. "I plan to wait until the end of the season next year. I want to take some visits."

Early playing time will be critical to the decision process for this talented defender. "I want to get a starting position or at least be a backup. I'm not sure what I would like to major in yet," added Wilkerson.
