Offer List Growing for RB

The Clemson Tigers are one of many teams recruiting Richmond Senior running back Norman Whitley. Which teams are close to offering the blue-chip running back? has the latest in this recruiting update.

The 5-10, 180 pound prospect has picked up two offers and others are expected to come over the next few weeks.

"I have an offer from Carolina. They were the first to offer. I also have an offer from Maryland. I went to the coaches office last week and they told me that Tennessee, Michigan and Virginia would be offering in the next few days," Whitley told in a recent interview.

The Tigers are among several others showing interest in the prize recruit. "Clemson is showing interest. They show interest and then I don't hear from them. Then they show interest again. Oregon, Kansas State and Georgia are also showing interest," said Whitley.

When asked if he has any early favorites, Whitley responded, "Actually I don't have one right now. Teams are recruiting me hard, but I can't see too much since they haven't started calling. I haven't been able to go everywhere that I would like to go."

Whitley has made only one visit so far this spring, "Yeah I went to the Carolina spring game. It went pretty well. I know I want to go see Georgia."

His summer camp plans are also unclear at this time. "I am going to try to spread it out. I want to go see as many as I can. I would love to go see Georgia, Clemson and South Carolina. I would like to see what the facilities are like at those schools," said Whitley.

Don't expect an early commitment from the talented running back. "I will probably wait until next year. I want to see what teams have to offer. I want to see what the recruiting process looks like to me when we get closer to February," added the North Carolina native.

Whitley looks for big things from Richmond Senior this fall. "I'm impressed with what I've seen this spring. We started spring practice about a month ago. I like what I've seen so far."

What will the North Carolina standout consider when he selects a college? "I will be trying to find where I feel best and I will go where my heart and mind leads me to. I want to see where I feel the most comfortable," said Whitley.
