Tigers Offer GA ATH First

Brandon West of Camden County made the short drive down from Georgia to compete in the Scout.com Combine in Jacksonville on Sunday, and overall, he put up some of the best numbers out there.

West ran a 4.45 forty, 4.40 shuttle and he turned in an impressive 33.5 vertical leap. He has picked up one offer already, and there are more likely on the way. "Clemson is my only offer right now," said West. "I'm very excited about the offer. I had 21 touchdowns rushing last year and 1,300 yards. Clemson is the only team recruiting me at defensive back right now. The rest of the schools are recruiting me at running back."

Who are some of the rest of the schools he refers to?

"I was invited to Junior Days at Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and LSU, but I haven't been able to go because of my track schedule. I run the 4x100 relay for our team. I'd like to get up to Tennessee for a summer camp. I'd just like to get up there and check it out."

West names five schools that he is currently most interested in.

"LSU, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, and Florida are my Top 5 right now."

What does he like about each of his favorites?

"I like the coaching staff at LSU, and they have awesome facilities. Tennessee has a great stadium, and I like their offensive scheme. Wake Forest has great academics, and I think I could play early there. Georgia Tech has great academics too. I like the staff there and the Atlanta nightlife. At Florida they have a great gameday atmosphere, and they're an SEC Powerhouse."

West and his Camden County team look to make another trek to the Georgia Dome this year, and they start practice on May 9th. West will be working at running back, defensive back, and returning punts and kickoffs.
