Several coaching staffs, including Clemson's, have already visited the 6-6, 335 pound offensive line prospect Carl Johnson at his high school.
"Clemson, South Carolina and Tennessee have all come by the school. They all talked with my coach," Johnson told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
"I still don't have any favorites right now. I'm just wide open."
Despite his lack of a true top five, the North Carolina standout does plan to make an early commitment. "I will probably make a decision in August or September. I'll probably start narrowing things down in August."
The summer camp plans are still undecided for the talented lineman. "I don't know yet. I haven't had time to make plans yet. I will probably only do a couple of camps.
"Everything is laid back right now when it comes to recruiting. Pretty much all schools are recruiting me about the same."
So what is Johnson looking for in his future school of choice? "I am looking for a place with good academics and a good football program. I want to go somewhere that has good graduation rates for athletes," said the star lineman.
