Tigers Looking Good for Sapp

South Carolina defensive end Ricky Sapp (6-4, 225, 4.7) is looking to narrow his focus to a top five once summer ends.

"My seven schools of interest are Clemson (first to offer), North Carolina State, Georgia, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Florida State. All of them have offered me," said Sapp, from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School.

"I've got about 24 offers total, also including Oklahoma, Penn State, Nebraska, LSU, Arkansas and Florida.

"I think I should be ready to have a top five by the start of the season," he said. "I want to commit closer to Signing Day," he said.

"Right now, out of the seven schools that I'm interested in, I've looked more closely at Clemson, North Carolina State and Georgia.

Sapp has been to Georgia's Junior Day, Clemson's spring game and a South Carolina spring practice.

He has no plans to attend any camps or take further unofficial visits this summer.

"I'm good at getting after the quarterback and making big plays. I also come off the edge real good too. I just want to get bigger, faster and stronger, and work on my technique."
