Malone helped lead Florida State to a 5-0 mark last week, including the first ACC sweep of North Carolina since 2001. In five games, the sophomore hit .579, slugged 1.105, drove in 11 RBIs and recorded five extra base hits. With the Seminoles trailing North Carolina by two runs, Malone recorded a walk-off three-run home run with two outs in the inning. The third-baseman hit another home run that drove in the eventual game-winning runs in the opener of the Tar Heel series. Against North Carolina, Malone hit .615, slugged 1.308, drove in nine runs, scored six runs, hit a pair of homers, a double and a triple. Last week, he was a perfect 4-for-4 versus left-handers and he hit .714 with runners on base, .625 with runners in scoring position and .750 with two outs in an inning including four two-out RBIs.
Cribb earned two wins in one start and one relief appearance for Clemson last week. Over the two games, he allowed just one run in 12.0 innings pitched (0.75 ERA). The junior also allowed just nine hits (all singles) and three walks (two of which were intentional) with nine strikeouts. On Monday at Virginia Tech, Cribb pitched a complete game shutout in Clemson's 7-0 win. He allowed just six hits (all singles) and one walk while striking out six. It was the first shutout by a Tiger since 2003, and the first in an ACC game since 2001. At Wake Forest on Saturday, the Lake View, S.C., native came out of the bullpen in a tight game and earned the win in relief in the Tigers' 17-14 win in 11 innings. The right-hander pitched the final 3.0 innings, allowing three hits and one run with three strikeouts. Cribb retired two straight Demon Deacons in the ninth inning with the score tied, one out and runners on second and third.
