Coaches from around the country are visiting Richland Northeast to recruit one of the top defensive linemen in the south, Adam Patterson. When will the talented defender decide on his top schools? CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

DL Adam Patterson
6-3, 260, 4.7
Richland-Northeast High School
Columbia, South Carolina

The 6-3, 255 pound prospect already has a very impressive offer list that continues to grow with each day that passes by. "Everything is going good. I just added an offer from LSU last Thursday. I might be getting one Nebraska soon," Patterson told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

When asked if he has any favorites at this time, Patterson responded, "I don't have any favorites. I am pretty much open to everybody."

Over the next few months the talented lineman does plan to establish some favorites. "I am going to start narrowing things down this summer," stated Patterson.

His summer camp plans are not clear at this time. "I need to talk with my coach. We need to discuss my plans."

Patterson is also working hard to make sure he is ready for next season. "I have been training hard. I want to get faster. I also want to get smarter about how to play the game. I am studying film and trying to teach myself different ways on how to deal with offensive linemen."

The prize recruit also believes Richland Northeast will have a talented team next fall. "We will have a well balanced team. We are a team to watch."

Family and coaches will help Adam with his decision, but the decision will be solely his. "I'm not really getting any pressure. Everyone is letting me make my own decision."

Distance will also not be an important factor in Patterson's decision process. "It's not important. It just doesn't matter to me. I will go to the best school."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive lineman from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2006.
