A DeAndre McDaniel Update

The halls of Godby High School (Fla.) are filled with coaches trying to convince sensational athlete DeAndre McDaniel to come to their school. When will the Florida standout name a list of favorites? CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

"I have lots of coaches coming to visit," said McDaniel in a recent interview with CUTigers.com. "There are about three coaches a day coming. This week Auburn, Georgia, UCF, North Carolina and Southern California came to visit. Pete Carroll came this week." "Coach Swinney came down to see me at the beginning of spring. He came the first week they could visit."

The 6-1, 180 pound prospect has already a very impressive offer list. "Yeah I have about 22 offers now. The latest to offer were West Virginia and Central Florida I think," McDaniel said.

When asked if he has any favorites, McDaniel responded, "I really don't have any just yet. Well, I will say Clemson is one of my tops."

The talented athlete plans to decide on a top five over the next month or so. "I will probably narrow things down sometime in June. Probably by early June or mid June."

Summer will be busy for this talented receiver and defensive back. "Our team is going to Georgia, Florida State and probably LSU. I want to come to Clemson, but I'm not sure," said McDaniel.

McDaniel expects his team to compete for a championship next year. "We should be good. There is a good chance we will win the state."

Who is recruiting the blue-chip prospect the hardest at this time? "Clemson, Iowa, Southern California and Florida are showing the most interest right now," added McDaniel.

McDaniel also attended Clemson's Orange and White game earlier this spring.
