Defensive End Jamie Cumbie (6-6, 255, 4.7) from Morris Community High School (Ill.) now has a total of seven offers, including Northwestern, Illinois, Clemson, Purdue, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Cumbie says his top two are Notre Dame and Clemson with those two leading big over Purdue, Illinois and Tennessee. "I love the tradition at Notre Dame," said Cumbie. "It's a beautiful campus too. It's a really prestigious school and I think Coach Charlie Weis will put them on the right track. He's real down to earth and a great guy.
"I grew up in South Carolina and always followed Clemson. They've been my dream school all my life. I just moved to Illinois last year. I want to find a place where I feel comfortable. It's really close between Notre Dame and Clemson right now. I hope I'll just wake up one morning and know. Right now it's a toss up."
Cumbie is also being recruited to play tight end, but most schools want him as a defensive end. He reports a 3.8 GPA and a 22 ACT.
