Grisham Heading to Clemson in July

Future Tiger receiver Tyler Grisham caught up with after an impressive performance the Alabama Mississippi All-star game this past weekend. The standout receiver discusses everything from the All-star game to his future roommates in this update.

5-11, 185 pound future Clemson wide receiver Tyler Grisham officially closed down his high school career with an impressive performance in the Alabama-Mississippi All-star game this past weekend.

"It was great," Grisham told "I probably had the most fun I've ever had involving athletics. My parents, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins all game.

"I had one catch for 41 yards and a touchdown. I also gained eight yards on a reverse."

Like most of the 2005 recruiting class, Grisham will report to Clemson early for summer school. "I report on July 5," said the Alabama native. "I'm going up for the second summer session."

"I'm looking forward to competing. I just want to get there and work my way up the depth chart. I want to show that I am a pretty good football player. I also think it will be fun to be around all the great athletes."

Clemson wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney continues to keep in close contact with the future Tiger. "Yeah I talked to him the other night," said Grisham. "We talked about the game (this weekend). We were just catching up and talking about next year."

Grisham will be rooming with another Alabama star receiver. "Right now I am going to be rooming with Bobby Hutchinson and another lineman. And I am also going to be rooming with Terrell Smith.

"Terrell and I talk a lot. He spent the night a few weeks ago. We've been hanging out."

The Alabama standout is working hard to make sure he is ready to compete in August. "I got the summer workout plan from the coaches. They sent it to all of the signees. I have a workout plan for each week. I'm doing lots of running."

Grisham also said that Coach Swinney will be back at Spain Park High this fall to watch several other future college prospects. "We have a quarterback Neil Caudle who has offers from Clemson, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee and several others. We also have a great lineman Robert Drum who is like 6-6. We also have a rising junior that will be an outstanding lineman," he said.

We will continue to keep you updated on this future Tiger receiver, right up through the first day of practice in August. Top Stories
