Fla DB Looking Closely at Clemson

Coach Dabo Swinney is trying to work his magic in Florida again this year.

5-11, 185 pound defensive back prospect Ryan Hill has already received several impressive scholarship offers over the course of the last few months. "I just got two new offers yesterday," Hill told CUTigers.com Tuesday evening. "North Carolina and Ohio State offered. I think that makes about 16 right now."

When asked if he has any favorites, Hill responded, "My top five right now would be Clemson, Miami Florida, Auburn and Florida State.

"Clemson is just about number one. I really like Clemson. I really like the ACC and SEC."

Clemson wide receivers' coach Dabo Swinney is working hard to sign another top prospect from Florida. "I've talked a good bit with Coach Swinney. We are building a good relationship. I have watched them a lot too and followed the career of Justin Miller and Tye Hill. They run a defense that I like. Coach Swinney said I could play early. I feel like I would have a chance to play early."

What will be the most important factors when the prize recruit determines where to sign in February? "I am going to look at education. I want to major in Criminal Justice. I am going to also look for early playing time and I want to go where I can increase by chances of playing in the NFL," said Hill.

Being from Tallahassee, it's natural to assume that FSU may be one of the schools to beat. Not so according to Hill. "I'm not sure FSU will be one of my prime choices right now. I have a cousin that plays there now. I have been in Tallahassee all of my life. I kind of want to get away from home. That can certainly change however."

Also, don't expect an early commitment from the talented defender. "I wouldn't say I'll commit any time soon. I want to weigh my options. Sometime when I am ready I will talk with my coaches and my family," said Hill.

Hill added that he will be camping at Alabama and Florida this summer.
