D'Vontrey Richardson, one of the top quarterback prospects on the board for the Clemson Tigers, has changed his timeframe for a verbal commitment.

"Right now I am probably going to wait until after the fall. I was talking about doing it in the summer, but I think I want to take some official visits first," Richardson told CUTigers.com Wednesday evening.

When asked if he has a leader in the recruiting process, Richardson responded, "I really don't have a leader. I should have one by the end of June or the end of summer. Once I get back from camps I will have a better idea of where all this is going, but right now, I don't." Richardson plans to spend a good bit of his summer showcasing his skills around the southeast. "I am definitely going to Clemson and Georgia," said the Georgia native. "I am also probably going to Troy and Florida State. I am going to try to go to a few others as well. We'll see." The Tigers continue to recruit the talented athlete as a quarterback. "Yeah, Clemson wants me as a quarterback. They want me to be ready to come out and start after a redshirt year. They tell me they like quarterbacks that can move around in the pocket," said Richardson.

The Georgia Bulldogs, who have already secured a verbal commitment from one of the top quarterbacks in the nation in Matthew Stafford, continue to tell the prize recruit that he will get a shot at quarterback. "Georgia said I can try quarterback and if I don't make it I can move to another position."

"His commitment doesn't really matter when it comes to where I go to school."

What position does the Lee County standout prefer to play in college? "I would like to play quarterback, but I may end up at another position," added Richardson.
