Tigers Squarely in the Mix

Clemson remains squarely in the mix for this talented athlete from Alabama.

Earl Alexander is one of the top big athletes in the state of Alabama and his offer list has now climbed to five. Who stands the best chance to sign him at this time?

"I'm up to five offers now from Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Georgia and Louisville. Those are my top five schools. I don't really have a favorite. If I had to pick a leader I really couldn't right now," Earl Alexander said.

What does Alexander like about each of those schools?

Alabama: "Just basically their style of play. Coach Randolph will tell you straight up and he's very honest."

Clemson: "I don't know too much about Clemson. I talked to the coach and he said I had a good chance to step in and play."

LSU: "I talked to JaMarcus Russell and he just told me a little something about them. From what he said, I really liked it. How they mix it up, how they practice, how they don't have too much depth at QB and all that."

Georgia: "Coach Richt is a real nice guy and very honest. I like the campus there a lot and it's somewhere I could really see myself going. I like their style of play also."

Louisville: "Coach Whitt is my recruiting coach and he is my favorite recruiter right about now. I like how they mix it up offensively and I have a cousin up there already named Demetrius Blackmon. He says nice things about it and I could be with family."

Alexander is versatile enough to play quarterback or wide receiver at the next level.

"Georgia and LSU both offered me as an athlete. They say I can start at quarterback, but if that doesn't work out I can play a different position. I would love to play quarterback but if things ain't clicking, I wouldn't mind changing positions."

He has attended one camp thus far and has two more to go.

"I just got back from the Auburn camp last weekend. I plan to go to Georgia and LSU also. I'm trying to get to Clemson too."
