Another Commitment Looming for Clemson?

The Clemson Tigers received a commitment from Riverside quarterback Michael Wade on Wednesday. Could another Riverside standout be close to making a commitment? has the latest on star kicker Richard Jackson in this recruiting update.

5-11, 180 pound kicker prospect Richard Jackson has already built a very impressive offer list. "I have offers from Clemson, Maryland, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M and Duke," Jackson told in a recent interview.

Interestingly enough, the prize recruit may be close to deciding where he will attend college. "Yeah I think I will make a commitment before too long. I want to get it done before the season starts," Jackson said.

When asked if he is ready to name a leader, Jackson responded, "No, I don't have a leader yet."

The Tigers will get a chance to impress the Palmetto standout on Sunday. "I will be coming up to Clemson on Sunday for their kicking camp," stated Jackson. "I'm looking forward to it."

Could a commitment to the Tigers come during the visit this weekend? "It's possible," said the rising senior.

Jackson also knows what he will consider when making his final decision. "The most important factor in my decision will probably be the coaching staff. I also will look at the reputation of the schools for academics and athletics. I will probably major in Business, but I'm not positive," he said.

Early playing time is not something that is important to Jackson. "It really doesn't matter to me. Either way will be fine. A redshirt year might actually be best for me."

Coach Blackwell is recruiting Jackson for the Tigers.

As a junior, Jackson connected on 8-of-11 field goals with a long of 50-yards. As a side note, both of Jackson's parents attended Clemson.
