Tigers Receive Sixth Commitment

Clemson received another big time verbal commitment earlier today.

According to a member of the Wilkerson family, the Clemson Tigers received another commitment for the 2006 recruiting class earlier today when Gaffney LB Julius Wilkerson gave his pledge to the Clemson coaching staff.

Wilkerson, who was recruited by David Blackwell, becomes the sixth verbal commitment for the Tigers in the 2006 recruiting class.

He chose the Tigers over an offer from Virginia Tech.

As a junior, Wilkerson recorded 151 tackles with nine tackles for loss while earning All-Region honors.

Wilkerson was on hand for the Tigers' weekend team camp before deciding on a commitment.

The South Carolina native is expected to debut as the No. 9 player in the state in Scout.com's upcoming player rankings. He is also listed ast the No. 75 player in Scout.com's East Coast Region.
