The Stats: Demerick Chancellor rushed 87 times for 812 yards and 16 touchdowns during his senior season at Edison High School. He also had 14 catches for 211 receiving yards and two more scores through the air. As a junior, he rushed for over 500 yards and nine touchdowns. Chancellor, who was recruited to Clemson by David Blackwell, chose the Tigers over North Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Syracuse.

Strength: Chancellor is another speedy athlete from the state of Florida that could play a multitude of positions at Clemson, including running back, wide receiver, or on defense as a cornerback or safety. In addition, Chancellor will also be the tallest running back on the roster once he arrives at Clemson this fall.

Why Clemson? "Clemson has always been at the top for me," said Chancellor. "I got tired of waiting in December and I told them I wanted to commit. Coach Blackwell and Coach Burns came by the house and I went ahead and made the decision then and there. They were real happy. They said they couldn't wait until I get up there. On my official visit in January, I got to meet with the new offensive coordinator, Coach Spence. He talked to me about the offense he ran at Toledo and I really liked what I saw. He sets you up and if you got speed you have no choice but to score."

Coach Blackwell Says: "We were very high on him coming out of spring ball, and when his senior film started coming in, he really skyrocketed up our board. He gives us a nice blend because he's a totally different style of back than James Davis. We signed two backs that are very different. Demerick really catches the ball well out of the backfield, plus he's tall. He's really rangy and can flat out fly. There is a nice change of pace between him and Davis. Anytime when you look at your summertime-to-September recruiting board and you sign two of out the top four backs on your board, it's a good thing. We are very excited about Demerick."
