D'Vontrey Richardson is one of the top players in South Georgia this recruiting year and the Lee County prospect has already picked up a very impressive slate of offers to his credit. Which lucky five programs have made his latest group of favorites?
"I like Clemson, Georgia, Marshall, Louisville and Florida State. I have offers from all of those schools. I don't have a leader right now," D'Vontrey Richardson said.
What does he like about each of those schools?
Clemson: "They have a passing offense and they run the same plays as us. It would be easy to fit in there."
Georgia: "They said I could play both baseball and football so I really like that."
Marshall: "They want a quarterback and I like my chances at getting to the pros from there because they've produced good players like Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich."
Louisville: "I don't know much about them yet but I know they need a quarterback."
Florida State: "I'm going to see more about them this weekend when I get down to their campus."
D'Vontrey admits that top five may not be his final one.
"That top five is not set in stone because I still have some schools to look at. Teams like LSU, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and Miami could still get in there."
As Richardson mentioned above, he will camp in Tallahassee on Wednesday.
"I'm headed to FSU's 7-on-7 camp tomorrow. I haven't been able to do much football this summer due to my Team Georgia commitment with baseball."
The Trojan signal caller lost his best wide receiver this off-season due to some off the field troubles but he insists that the cupboard in Leesburg is still not bare.
"I've got a guy who's nicknamed "Speed" and he's an up coming sophomore but he's only 5'11. I also have a 6'5 guy who runs about a 4.7. Where LaValle (Parker) really was going up in the air and making adjustments."
