Clemson Signee Working on GA RB

LB Antonio Clay is talking to one of his old teammates about signing with Clemson next year.

The Clemson Tigers continue to remain one of top schools for Twiggs County (GA) running back Joe Joe Cox.

The 5-10, 210 pound prospect, who has yet to attend any summer camps, will make his first trip in the near future. "I haven't been to any camps yet but I start next week," Cox told in a recent interview. "I am going to Georgia Tech, Presbyterian and Auburn. I will also try to go to a couple more if I can."

When asked if he has a leader or any favorites yet, Cox responded, "I don't have a No. 1 leader yet but I do have a top three. That would be Auburn, Clemson and Maryland."

A commitment is not likely until next fall for the prize recruit. "I am probably going to wait until the fall (for a decision). It will probably be closer to signing day, but it might be before then," he said.

Cox also plans to travel to Clemson to see his former Twiggs County teammate Antonio Clay. "Antonio still works me for Clemson a lot," he said. "He went up there yesterday. I'm going to go up and see him sometime soon, probably during the season."

As a junior, Cox rushed for 1852 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was also named as a first team All-State selection.

"I want to do better this year," he added. "I'm lifting weights and running a lot getting ready for ths eason. Just working hard to stay in football shape." will continue to keep you updated on Joe Joe Cox, right up through signing day. Top Stories
