JUCO Standout High on Clemson

CUTigers.com has learned the Tigers appear to be in great shape for this JUCO standout.

6-1, 205 safety pound prospect Jonathan Warren, a former Florida State signee who is currently enrolled at Butler County Community College in Kansas, is planning to visit Clemson in July before heading back to school.

"I am coming up before I go back to Kansas in August. It will probably be in the next couple of weeks, most likely next week," Warren told CUTigers.com Monday evening.

Of course, a summertime visit to Clemson must mean that Warren is serious about the possibility of committing to the Tigers at some point in the recruiting process.

According to Warren, Clemson looks to be in very good shape headed into the heart of summer.

"They are in my top two right now. Well you could say my top three are Clemson, Iowa State and Florida State," he said.

What are the chances that each of the favorites will sign the talented defender? "I would give Iowa State 33%, Florida State 32% and Clemson 34%," Warren said.

"I am trying to get out in December if I can. Right now, that looks like it will happen. I took a redshirt last year so I will have three years to play where I go," he said.

After a redshirt season, Warren is eager to hit the field again. "I am most definitely ready to play this year. I am ready to get back up there now and play."

Coach Swinney is hoping that the three year relationship he has developed with Warren will pay big dividends later this year. "Coach Swinney is recruiting me for Clemson. He has basically been recruiting me since high school. I had a teammate Bobby Hutchinson sign with Clemson. I looked at them in high school pretty hard," he said.

What is the one thing that is most important to Warren in making a verbal commitment? "It's going to be playing time. I am only going to have three years to play. I have no time to waste," Warren added.
