"Other" Tigers Take Lead for LB

Maryland LB Bani Gbadyu talks about his top schools, including Clemson in this report.

6-1, 210 pound linebacker prospect Bani Gbadyu just returned from a visit to LSU, where he fell in love with the "other" Tigers.

"I just got back yesterday," said Gbadyu in a recent interview with CUTigers.com. "It was great. After seeing the school they would be my favorite right now."

"I really liked the coaching staff and the players. The city is alive down there. It's a great environment to play football. Everywhere you go there are people with LSU shoes, shirts, hats, even burgers named after players. They even had a countdown to the season that showed the hours, minutes until the season."

When asked who his other favorites are, Gbadyu responded? "After LSU it would be Penn State, Nebraska, Georgia and then Clemson in that order.

Gbadyu also added, "I want to take a couple of official visits first before deciding on anything. I will probably make my commitment during one of the visits. I am going to take them early - probably in September."

What will the other schools need to do to take the lead from the LSU Tigers? "I just want to go take some visits to see where it feels best. Right now I feel like LSU is the place for me," said Gbadyu, who named Clemson as his leader earlier in the year.

Distance will not be a factor as Bani is ready to be on his own. "I want to go far away. I want to grow up. I want to learn how to take care of myself," said Gbadyu.

The prize recruit has also finished his summer visits and is ready to concentrate on his senior season. "So far I have been to nine schools. It's nice to be home. I am ready to concentrate on my team and winning a championship," he added.
