Atlanta, Georgia recently caught up with Georgia native LB Akeem Dent to get latest on his recruitment to several big time programs around the southeast. "I'm getting interst from a lot of schools right now," Dent said. "Clemson, Auburn, and LSU are all showing strong interest in me."

When asked if he has any favorites, Dent responded, "Not right now. I'm not ready to name any. I'm just waiting to see how it all plays out."

Running backs coach Burton Burns is recruiting the Douglass High standout for the Tigers. "I like Coach Burns. He's a good coach. I like him a lot," Dent said.

Of course, Clemson fans may remember Douglass High from last year. Coach Burns also signed another top prospect from the Atlanta area school when RB James Davis signed with the Tigers.

"You can bet he is working me for Clemson," Dent said of his former teammate. "He says it's a good program. Plus, they have a new defensive coordinator so there may be a chance for early playing time."

The Georgia native was unable to make it to any summer camps this year, but that didn't stop him from staying in shape. "I basically spent the summer in the weight room," Dent said. "I didn't go to any summer camps. I'm trying to get ready for this season."

Finally, Dent says he will be visiting Clemson during the early stages of the 2005 season. "The (Clemson) coaches want me to come up for that first home game. So I am going to try to get up for the Texas A&M game.

"I am going to try to wait before I make a decision though," he added. "It might be after the season or it might be in the middle of the season." Top Stories
