DB Crezdon Butler
6-1, 175, 4.4
Asheville High School
Asheville, North Carolina
Butler chose the Tigers over scholarship offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and N.C. State.
He was reportedly down to Clemson and N.C. State.
As a junior last year, Butler passed for 764 yards and three touchdowns as a quarterback, and also rushed for 1,445 yards and 17 touchdowns.
He is expected to be moved to the defensive backfield at Clemson. Butler is now the 10th verbal commitment for Clemson University in the 2006 recruiting class.
"I will look at academics first and then football," Butler told CUTigers.com in an interview earlier this year. "I want to see if they need me to come in and play."
Butler, who plans to major in either architecture or engineering at Clemson, is one of two defensive backs now in the 2006 recruiting class. The Tigers have also secured the verbal commitment of South Carolina native CB Byron Maxwell.
