Ga DT Visiting Clemson

Torell Johnson is a big Defensive Tackle prospect from Salem High School in Conyers, Georgia. Johnson has recorded solid numbers in helping Salem to a 2-0 start.

"We're at 2-0 right now," said Torell Johnson. "I've done pretty well. The first game I had a sack and five tackles. The second game I had 2 sacks, 3 tackles, and a tipped ball."

Johnson helped lead Salem to the semi-finals last year at the Georgia Dome. What are his goals for this season?

"I don't have any personal goals. I just have team goals. We went to the dome last year. We want to take to take it a step further this year."

Johnson has received offers from Maryland, Ole Miss, and Ball State. Is there a leader for the Detroit native?

"I'm kind of sitting back and checking the scene. I don't really have a leader. The schools I like are Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and probably Michigan State."

Which school has Johnson been in closest contact with?

"I've been in closest contact with Clemson. They've told me they're close to offering me and keeping an eye out on me. They want to see what I can do this season."

Johnson is already set for an official visit to see one of his favorites this weekend.

"This Saturday I'm going to Clemson to watch them play Texas A&M. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go to all of the schools in my top five."

What will be some of the deciding factors for Johnson on signing day?

"I guess I'll have to look back at that visit I took. I want to reflect on what I saw in all of the coaches. I want to be able to feel like those coaches are a part of a family."
