CU Commitments Continue Strong Play

CUTigers.com has the latest on Clemson's verbal commitments, including junior quarterback Willy Korn, who is leading Byrnes to over 62 points a game this year, and Michael Wade, who is doing a little bit of everything for the Riverside Warriors.

QB Willy Korn - Junior quarterback Willy Korn completed 14-of-22 for 274 yards and four touchdowns Friday night in Byrnes' 56-0 win over Greer. On the season, Korn has now completed 54-of-69 passes for 1011 yards and 14 touchdowns. In addition, the Rebels' offense is averaging 62 points/game through the first three games of the year. Korn also took in the Tigers' 25-24 win over Texas A&M Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.

QB Michael Wade - Senior quarterback Michael Wade completed 15-of-22 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns in Riverside's 41-16 win over Traveler's Rest. He also rushed six times for 100 yards. Wade remains firm in his commitment to Clemson and attended the Tigers' game Saturday night against Texas A&M.

WR/DB DeAndre McDaniel - Clemson commitment DeAndre McDaniel, who projects as a safety at the collegiate level, caught three passes for 49 yards Friday night in Godby's (Fla.) 40-7 win over Gainesville. He remains firm in his commitment to Clemson.

PK Richard Jackson - Jackson connected on 6-of-7 extra points in Riverside's 41-16 win over Traveler's Rest. His only miss came when his PAT attempt was blocked. Jackson, who also punts for the Warriors, remains firm in his verbal commitment to Clemson.

CB Byron Maxwell - Maxwell is not playing football this season after tearing his ACL. He remains firmly committed to Clemson.

DE Ricky Sapp - Clemson's five-star commitment Ricky Sapp recorded seven tackles and two sacks as a defensive end, and also caught a touchdown pass as a tight end in Bamberg-Ehrhardt's 48-0 win over Bethune-Bowman Friday night. Sapp also attended the Clemson game Saturday and remains firm in his commitment to the Tigers.

WR Kendrick Johnson - Clemson verbal commitment Kendrick Johnson actually played two football games this past week as a result of his first game of the season being postponed due to Hurricane Katrina. In game one, he had four catches for 105 yards and and a touchdown. In the second game, he had four catches for 33 yards. Johnson will also be in Clemson for the Tigers' next home game against Miami.

WR Jeff Ogren - Clemson verbal commitment Jeff Ogren caught four passes, including three for touchdowns in American Christian Academy's 48-2 win Friday night. Ogren then made the trip over to Clemson to take in the Tigers' game against Texas A&M Saturday evening. After suffering an ankle sprain that limited his playing time a week ago, Ogren appears to now be healthy. He also is firming up his commitment to Clemson after taking in Saturday's game in Death Valley.

LB Julius Wilkerson - Clemson commitment Julius Wilkerson missed Friday night's game against T.L. Hanna with a bruised knee. The injury is not believed to be serious.

DB Crezdon Butler - Clemson verbal commitment Crezdon Butler had an off week this past weekend but but did manage to make it down to Clemson for Saturday's game. Asheville High resumes its regular season Friday evening against East Burke.
