Yesterday Moss practiced for the first time since the game on September 5. He participated in every drill, but did not take as many reps as he would have had he not been hurt.
"It feels good, I just got a little bruise," Moss said. "That has held me out the last couple of days, but it feels good right now."
Moss responded to a rumor that it was a hairline fracture as opposed to a bruise.
"No, it's just a little bruise, that's it."
He's not sure how it happened, but did think he was playing with it for a while.
"It never really bothered me until now," Moss said. "Hopefully it can heal by Saturday."
When asked if he was going to be put in a boot, he responded, "no I'm not getting into any boot, I am ready to go. It is just a little bruise, that's it, nothing major."
Head coach Larry Coker told the media he expects Moss to start if he is healthy. Moss agreed by answering, "yeah, most definitely" if he thought he would start.
Last week against Florida State rushed for 94 yards on 17 carries in the first half. Coker admits to overusing his starting tailback and it affected Moss's performance in the second half.
He battled cramps in the second half, which kept him out of the game in the fourth quarter.
In the second half he rushed for just eight yards on six carries.
Moss wanted to erase any doubts that he would be ready to go on Saturday.
"I played with a hurt shoulder last year so a little bruise is not going to hurt me," Moss said. "I am ready to roll."
