Top LB Enjoys Clemson Trip

Brandon Spikes, a four-star linebacker from North Carolina, was one of many top recruits in attendance Saturday in Death Valley. CUTigers.com has the details on the visit in this recruiting update.

6-4, 230 pound linebacker prospect Brandon Spikes took an unofficial visit to Clemson over the weekend to watch the Tigers take on the Miami Hurricanes.

"I liked it a lot," Spikes told CUTigers.com. "I went up with my cousin. I really enjoyed it. It was loud in Death Valley. The fans were great. You could tell they love their team."

When asked if he has any favorites in the recruiting process, Spikes responded, "No, I don't have any favorites. I want to say I'm just open for now."

The North Carolina standout spent a few minutes speaking with the Clemson coaches before the game. "I spoke briefly with Coach Bowden. We didn't get to talk too much because he had to get ready for the game," he said.

The talented defender is not sure which other games he will attend this fall. "I'm not sure about going to any other games just yet. I don't have any plans yet," Spikes said.

"I don't even know when I will take my official visits. I'll probably wait until after my season most likely."

A commitment is not likely over the next few months for the prize recruit. "I'm not close to a decision. I'm not sure when I will know."
