6-2, 195 pound wide receiver prospect Tim Hawthorne had another outstanding game for Homewood High School (Ala.) in a blowout victory last weekend.
"I saw limited action this week. I played up until first series in second half. We won the game 42-11. My highlight was 73-yard punt return for a touchdown. I ended up with like two receptions for over 30 yards. I was triple and double covered all night," Hawthorne told CUTigers.com.
Hawthorne had hoped to visit Clemson for the Miami game two weeks ago, but he did not make the trip. "No, I did not make it to Clemson for the Miami game. I just stayed home because I had some stuff to do. This weekend I had to take my ACT so I didn't go anywhere either," stated Hawthorne.
The 4-star receiver will be watching the Crimson Tide this weekend. "This weekend I will be going to see the Alabama game against Florida," he said.
When asked if he has any favorites in the recruiting process, Hawthorne responded, "I like everybody. I haven't narrowed anything down yet. I can tell you Clemson is up there."
The prize recruit is also starting to think about where he will take his official visits. "I might squeeze in one or two official visits during the season. I will take the rest of them in January," he said.
"The schools that I take my five official visits to may not necessarily be in the lead. I will still probably have about seven or 10 schools on my list. Just because I don't take an official visit to a school doesn't mean they are out of the running."
The Alabama standout is planning to make his commitment early next year. "I will be ready to make my decision by early or the middle of January," Hawthorne said.
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from Alabama, right up through signing day.
