2003 Profile: RB BJ Brown

RB/DB BJ Brown is one of the top returning athletes in South Carolina next year. We've got the latest on one of the top players ever to come out of Indian Land High School. He could possibly make the switch to the secondary at the Division I-A level.

BJ Brown (5'11, 180, 4.55) is one name you probably aren't too familiar with yet. Indian Land's star running back gained 1432 yards and scored 10 touchdowns as a freshman, the following year he rushed for another 1191 yards and scored 13 TDs.

As a junior, he amassed 1589 yards and scored 15 more touchdowns. Through three seasons, he has gained 4212 yards and scored a total of 38 touchdowns while breaking almost every single school record. Last season, he was able to run wild on several teams even while facing 8 and 9 man fronts. That is certainly the sign of an incredible athlete.

Brown also plays linebacker and strong safety, and he could very well make the switch over to defense at the collegiate level. He has good quickness and a nice frame- you'd almost like to say that he looks like a prototypical cornerback.

On defense last year, he had 54 Tackles, 2 Sacks, and 1 INT. In the weight room, Brown can squat 430 lbs and can bench 320. He also has a 32 inch vertical.

Clemson has already shown interest in Brown, as well as South Carolina. We should know more on the other schools recruiting him, after the May Evaluation Period.

Brown will likely be a Division I prospect, and as he continues to demonstrate his athleticism on the football field, the offers will likely start coming in very soon.
