The 5-10, 185 pound running back prospect C.J. Spiller is having an outstanding senior season, even though his year has been cut somewhat short because of hurricanes.
"Right now we are 2-2 on the year," Spiller told CUTigers.com. "I have 63 carries for over 600 yards. I also have nine touchdowns. We have only played four games because we had a few cancelled because of the hurricanes."
When asked who his favorites are, Spiller responded, "I really don't have a favorite right now. I'm still looking at a lot of schools. I like Southern California, Michigan, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Clemson, Tennessee and Georgia."
What does the 5-star running back like about the Tigers? "I like how they play. Clemson is a great place to play. They have a lot of trick plays. It feels like a good place to play."
What about the other schools?
Southern California: "I just like their offense. I like how they use Reggie Bush in a lot of different ways."
Tennessee: "They are a hard nose running the football. As a matter of fact I am watching Tennessee and LSU play right now. I took an unofficial visit up there this summer."
Florida State: "I grew up a Florida State fan. They are putting in a new package to have two running backs in the game at the same time. They have a great defense. They are not far away from home."
Miami: "They are not too far from home. They have a good reputation at the running back position. I would love to play with Hester if he stays."
Florida: "They are only 30 minutes up the road. I am looking at their new offense. I am not sure how I would fit in their offense. They run a lot of shotgun."
Michigan: "I like the tradition at Michigan. It would be awesome to play in The Big House. I also like the coach that is recruiting me."
Will in-state schools have an advantage because of distance? "Not right now," said Spiller. "That could be a factor down the road."
The Florida standout is starting to plan his official visit tour. "I might take one of my official visits on October 14. We don't have a game that week. I might go to Michigan that weekend. In November I may go out to Southern California to see them play Fresno State."
Spiller has never been to Clemson, but that should change in November. "I am going to go up for the Florida State game later this year," stated the talented prospect.
Coach Dabo Swinney is recruiting the prize recruit for the Tigers. "He is cool. He is always very energized every time I talk to him," Spiller added.
