Is Johnson Wavering?

What's the latest with Clemson verbal commitment WR Kendrick Johnson?

6-1, 175 pound wide receiver prospect Kendrick Johnson has started off his senior campaign with a bang. "I have 16 receptions for 278 yards and five touchdowns on the season. We are 4-1 so far," Johnson told in a recent interview.

When asked if he is firm with his commitment to Clemson, Johnson responded, "Yeah, it's the same as before. I'm not fully committed though. It's about 50 percent right now."

If the prize recruit decides to not honor his commitment to Clemson, he will likely play in the Southeastern Conference. "I am also looking at Florida, Georgia and LSU," stated Johnson. "I plan to take official visits to those schools, but I haven't scheduled any yet. I haven't scheduled my official visit to Clemson yet either."

What would it take for the other schools to pull even with the Tigers? "It's simple, playing time. I feel if I go to Clemson I will probably start as a true freshman. Playing time is very important.

"I know I will start early at Clemson. If another school guarantees me the same as Clemson I could change my mind." Johnson will visit Clemson later this fall. "I am coming to Clemson for the Florida State game. I will probably come up with my mother and one of my coaches," he said.

The Clemson coaching staff is working hard to keep the Tigers at the top for the Florida standout. "Coach Swinney called me after the Miami game. Coach Blackwell called me last week. He was just keeping me updated on everything. He is looking forward to getting me up there for a game," Johnson added.
