The 6-2.5, 185 pound wide receiver prospect Jeff Ogren helped lead American Christian Academy to a victory over the defending state champions, Sweetwater this past weekend.
"It was awesome. We won 41-40 against Sweetwater. It came down to special teams. I blocked a punt that we scored to give us the lead. They came back and scored with a minute left in the 4th quarter to put them up by six."
"We had 50 seconds to get score. We went 65 yards down. Chris (Smelley) tried to pass it to me on a long 45-yard pass. The corner tackled me and was called for pass interference. We moved up 15 yards and then hit the other receiver to win the game," Ogren said.
"I had three receptions for 75 yards. I was more of a decoy because I was triple covered the whole night."
The Alabama standout enjoyed watching the Tigers whip N.C. State on Thursday night. "That was an awesome game. I was proud of Clemson. That was a great win."
Ogren is also still planning to graduate early and enroll at Clemson in January. "I am on track to graduate in December," he said. "I haven't talked with the coaches yet about practicing with the team during bowl practice but I understand that I should be able to practice with the team."
The talented receiver will also be back in Death Valley in November. "I am coming up for the Florida State game. I'm not sure who will be coming with me. I may come up with another recruit."
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from Alabama, right up through signing day.
