JAMES DAVIS UPDATE: Freshman RB James Davis is currently wearing a large splint cast on his left arm and is still listed as doubtful for Saturday's game at Georgia Tech after fracturing his wrist against N.C. State 13 days ago.

"They are going to evaluate him on Friday, but he just kinds of stands around (at practice)," Tommy Bowden said after practice Thursday. "Take a look at that cast. It's like trying to run out there with a claw."

Davis told reporters after practice that he caught one pass during Wednesday's practice in extremely limited action.

DID YOU KNOW? Speaking of running backs, Clemson has had just one lost fumbled by a running back in the last 31 games.

Bowden credited coach Burton Burns with the impressive statistic. "It's coach Burns and his emphasis," he said

FINAL SHOTS: Freshmen wide receivers Tyler Grisham and Aaron Kelly will continue to return kickoffs Saturday. Chansi Stuckey will return punts. Bowden also said he may use walk-on punter Jimmy Manners, "In the right situation," he said.
