The Clemson Tigers have made the top six for Saint Augustine wide receiver/safety Quinton Hancock. What impact will this weeks game have on whether the Tigers get an official visit? CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.
The 6-2, 185 pound prospect has helped lead Saint Augustine to a great season so far. "We are undefeated. I have two receiving touchdowns on the year. I'm not sure how many catches or yards. On defense I have over 40 tackles and one interception," Hancock told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
When asked who his current favorites are in the recruiting process, Hancock responded, "I like Nebraska, Auburn, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Clemson and South Carolina."
The prize recruit has taken one visit this year and is beginning to plan several others. "I have already taken an official visit to Nebraska. I like it up there. I also have a visit set with Maryland in December. I will visit Auburn and South Carolina also and either Clemson or Georgia Tech for my final visit," Hancock said.
How would Hancock rate the Nebraska visit on a scale of one to ten? "I would give it a high 9 or 10," he said.
The Tigers will get a chance to impress the Florida standout this weekend. "Yeah I am going to the Georgia Tech game this weekend so I will get a chance to see Clemson then. I'm looking forward to it.
"I've been talking with Coach Swinney a good bit lately. He calls to ask me how my season is going. He wants to know when I am coming up for a visit."
Don't expect a commitment until next year for the talented athlete. "I want to wait and take my visits before I make a commitment," he added.
In addition, the current two-way star prefers to play offense at the next level. "All of my favorites are recruiting me for offense," stated Hancock.
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from Florida, right up through signing day.
