4-star Safety Coming For Official Visit

CUTigers.com has all the details including his new leader in this recruiting update.

6-1, 180 pound safety prospect Jonathan Warren had his season come to an end last weekend. "We got beat on Sunday. That was a playoff game so we are done. I had seven tackles and one sack," Warren told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

As expected, the Butler Community College standout will be taking an official visit to Clemson next weekend. "I am taking an official visit to Clemson for the Florida State game. I also have an official visit scheduled with Iowa State on December 9," he said.

When asked who the leader is in the recruiting process, Warren responded, "Clemson and Iowa State are the leaders. I would say Iowa State has a slight advantage right now though. I talk to their coach every week and he sends me text messages all the time. I have gotten real close to their coach. I have also talked a lot with their defensive coordinator and head coach."

"There are a lot of rumors flying around out there. Florida State is not my leader. They are behind Iowa State and Clemson right now."

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is working hard to convince Warren that he should be running down the hill next year.

"I talked to Coach Swinney this morning actually. He also calls every week. We have a great relationship. He was telling me today that they are excited about me coming up next week. He said they have the whole weekend planned out for me."

What would it take for the Tigers to take the lead after Warren visits Tiger Town? "I want to see about the academics. I want to see where I feel most comfortable. I want to see how I fit in with the coaching staff," Warren said.

Finally, the former Florida standout should be graduating in May. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive back from Florida, right up through signing day.
