Peanut Heading Back to Clemson

5-star defensive end Peanut Whitehead is making his way to Death Valley this weekend.

6-6, 245 pound defensive end prospect Deantwan Whitehead had another outstanding game this past weekend, but it wasn't enough for West End High (Ala.) to advance in postseason play. "We lost in the first round of the playoffs. I had 14 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery," Whitehead told CUTigers.com.

The 5-star defender will be traveling back to Death Valley this weekend to watch the Tigers take on Florida State. "Yeah, I'm coming up for the game. I am coming with two of my coaches," he said. "I'm looking forward to it."

When asked to name his current favorites in the recruiting process, Whitehead responded, "I don't have any. I don't really have a favorite group yet. But now that my season is over I will have more time to narrow things down," he said.

The prize recruit is still considering taking an official visit to Clemson in January. "I think we are talking about January for Clemson. I'm still trying to figure it out. I should know more after this weekend.

"Right now, I have already set official visits for Louisville and Arkansas. I'm not sure who will get the others yet."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive lineman from Alabama, right up through signing day.
