WR Will Miss Clemson Visit

Fort Lauderdale standout Xavier Harris will not be able to visit Death Valley this weekend as he had orginally hoped. Will the talented receiver still visit the Tigers for an official visit? CUTigers.com has all the details in this recruiting update.

The prize recruit had hoped to visit Death Valley this weekend for the Clemson-Florida State game, but as it stands now, he will not be making the trip. "I am not going to be able to come this weekend," Harris told CUTigers.com. "I wanted to come, but I don't have a ride so I won't be able to make it."

Clemson assistant coach/recruiting coordinator David Blackwell is trying to make sure the Florida standout schedules an official visit at some point in the next two months. "Yeah, Coach Blackwell called last week. We talked about setting up an official visit. I think I am going to come up for an official visit in January. That's the plan right now," Harris said.

"I am also thinking about taking a visit to Wisconsin. I will probably take all five, but I am not sure about the others."

A commitment is still likely several months away. "I will probably be ready to make a decision by late December of early January," stated Harris. "Sometime around then."

Who is recruiting Harris the hardest at this time? "I would say it's between Wisconsin, Clemson, Central Florida, South Florida and Bowling Greene," he said. " I don't really have any leaders or anything like that. Right now I am just trying to not think about that stuff."

The 5-11, 175 pound prospect has already played his final game for Fort Lauderdale High. "Our season is over now. We finished 5-3. I had 48 catches for 870 yards and six touchdowns on the year," he said. "I really wasn't expecting my season to end this early, but it did."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from Florida, right up through signing day.
