The 5-10, 185 pound running back prospect C.J. Spiller had another outstanding performance this past weekend for Union County (Fla.). "Yeah I had a 172 yards rushing and four touchdowns this week. We play Trinity Catholic this week. They are undefeated," Spiller told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
Spiller, a five-star prospect, did not make the trip to Death Valley this weekend with teammates Willy Oliver and Kevin Alexander. "No sir, I stayed at home this weekend. I talked with Kevin and Willy. They had a good time up there. I watched a little bit of it," Spiller said.
When asked if the Tigers are still in the mix even though he didn't make the visit, Spiller responded, "Yeah, they are probably still in the mix. I am going to Southern California this weekend. The other four schools are pretty much still open. I'm still thinking about all of those schools."
So which schools are the final candidates to land the talented back? According to Spiller, he's narrowed his list to eight.
"I am still looking at Southern California, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson and all of the Florida schools. I really hadn't thought about when I will narrow it down (from there) yet," he said.
Do the in-state schools have an advantage? "The in-state schools probably have an advantage. They will probably all get visits," Spiller added.
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding running back from Florida, right up through signing day.
