Whitehurst Practices Monday

CLEMSON - News and notes from the practice fields.

It was another normal football practice Monday night, minus three injuries.

However, the injuries are not believed to be severe at all.

Offensive lineman Marion Dukes has a strain in his lower back, offensive lineman Nathan Bennett has a strained calf muscle and 'Bandit' Gaines Adams has a bruised knee.

All are expected to be ready for Saturday.

Quarterback Charlie Whitehurst practiced and made all the required throws and his status is exactly the same as it was last week at this time.

Regardless of who starts at quarterback, Tigers head coach Tommy Bowden said this game in no way mirrors the previous where he has basically owned South Carolina.

"There's a new coach and look at what they've done," Bowden said. "They've beaten Tennessee at Tennessee and beaten Florida. I'd say the mental edge is gone. There's a new sheriff in town and he's shooting different bullets.
