Sapp: Tigers in Great Shape with Teammate

5-star defensive end Ricky Sapp remains firm with Clemson, that's nothing new. However, Sapp has a teammate that is already on the radar of several schools, Clemson included. has all the details in this recruiting update.

So far, Ricky Sapp's senior year is going about as well as he could have ever imagined.

First, just last month he was named to Army All-American game in San Antonio, TX. Second, his team is on the verge of reaching the South Carolina state championship game.

"We're rolling right now," Sapp told in a recent interview. "Last week I had eight tackles and one sack I think. We are one game away from the championship."

Sapp also watched the Tigers 13-9 victory over South Carolina Saturday night. "Oh yeah, I watched it on television. I loved the white on white uniforms. I loved it. It looked pretty good. It could have been better. They could have won by more. The defense played good and the offense played good," he said.

When asked if is still solid with his commitment to the Tigers, Sapp responded, "Yes sir, I'm solid."

Bamberg Ehrhardt's DeQuan Bowers
Several schools from around the country continue to call the five-star prospect, but Sapp continues to politely tell them he's solid to Clemson. "They are still calling a good bit. Most of the time I don't answer the phone. When I do I tell them straight up that I'm solid with Clemson," said Sapp.

Also, according to Sapp, the Tigers appear to be in great shape with sophomore defensive lineman DeQuan Bowers, who could be the top player from South Carolina in the 2008 class.

"Oh yeah, I've been working him already. We've already got him. He's good too. It's already a done deal."

Bowers, along with Sapp, has been to at least one Clemson game this year.
