Sims Expecting Clemson Coaches

The Clemson Tigers are looking to add another blue-chip running back and Florida standout Marcus Sims is looking for a place where he can run the ball. Can Tommy Bowden pull a gem from Papa Bowden's backyard? CUTigers.com spoke with the star athlete to find out where the Tigers stand.

The 6-2, 220 pound prospect will get a visit later today from Coach Swinney and Coach Burns on Wednesday. "They are coming tomorrow to see me," Sims told CUTigers.com Tuesday evening.

The North Florida Christian standout wants to play running back at the next level and he believes Clemson would provide an opportunity for early playing time. "I really like the situation they have at running back. It seems like a great place to be. They have had success the last few years. They really need a running back. I think I can come in and get some early playing time," he said.

The Tigers will also get an official visit from Sims and his teammate. "I am going to come up for an official visit on January 13. I will be coming up with my teammate Ochuko Jenije.

"I have already visited Southern California. I am also going to visit Florida State, Miami and Alabama."

When asked if he has a leader among the final five teams, Sims responded, "No, they are all pretty much even."

The prize recruit knows exactly what he is looking for in a school. "I am looking for a place that has a family atmosphere. I want a place where everyone gets along. I want it to be about each other, not themselves. I am looking for a great coaching staff. I want a place where I can grow in all ways of life, academically, football and spiritually," Sims stated.

Do the Seminoles hold the advantage since older brother Ernie stars for Florida State? "No, not really. They are pretty much like every other school I am talk to. Each team has its good and bad. I want to find the place that is best for me," he said.

Don't expect a decision until the official visit tour is complete. "I will probably wait until I have taken all of my visits before I make a decision," added Sims.
