DT Planning Additional Visits

Coach Dabo Swinney met with talented defensive tackle Kareem Crowell for the second time in two weeks when he stopped by Godby High School this week. CUTigers.com has the latest on the visit and Crowell's plans for additional visits in this recruiting update.

Coach Swinney made the return trip to Godby on Tuesday to meet with Kareem and his teammates DeAndre McDaniel and Marcus Udell. "Coach Swinney came by the school on Tuesday. We sat down and talked about my school work. We talked about a backup plan in case I didn't qualify," Crowell told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

As it stands now, several of Kareem's teammates will take an official visit to Clemson on January 13, but Kareem will visit a week later. "I am still going to go on the 20th. DeAndre and Marcus are going on the 13th. I'd like to go with them, but I've got to be in Auburn that weekend," he said.

The halls of Godby High have been full of college coaches this week. "The coach from Auburn also came by on Tuesday. We talked about my grades and what I need to do. Florida State also came by this week, but they didn't get a chance to talk with me," Crowell said.

The Florida standout is also planning two additional official visits. "Coach Petrino came by from Louisville. I am going to take a visit there next week. Marshall also came by. I may go up there on January 27," he said.

When asked if his commitment was still firm to Auburn, Crowell responded, "Yes, I am still committed to Auburn. I am just going to take my visits to Clemson and Louisville. Then sometime after my visits I will sit down with my parents and discuss everything. My parents said they will leave the decision up to me. I will also talk with my coach."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive tackle from Florida, right up through signing day.
