* The state's top defensive prospect, Ricky Sapp, remains firm in his verbal commitment to Clemson entering the week of practice leading up to the 69th Annual Shrine Bowl. "Oh yeah, I'm real firm," Sapp told CUTigers.com Sunday afternoon. "We'll all be trying to recruit for Clemson this week."

* Sapp has already been spending time with teammate Darius Gaither. "We've been talking a good bit this morning," Sapp said. "I think he feels real comfortable with Clemson. He's firm. There's nothing to worry about with him or with me."

* Sapp also said he enjoyed Sunday's morning visit at the Shriners' Hospital in Greenville. "It makes you realize how lucky you are and just makes you want to go out there and do even more," he said. "It's a great experience."

* The five-star prospect also added that he anticipates playing the Bandit end position at Clemson next year. "They like me as a bandit," he said. "I think I can come in and get in and play early. At least I hope I can."
