Three Visits Set for Prochak

SPARTANBURG - Standout quarterback Nick Prochak has switched positions for this week's Shrine Bowl. caught up with the talented athlete after practice today and we've got the latest on one of the top uncommitted prospects left in South Carolina.

How was your first Shrine Bowl practice out there today?
Nick Prochak: It was a great experience. There are a good bunch of guys around here and some great coaches. I am just taking it all in.

How does it feel to play safety this week as opposed to your normal position - quarterback?
Nick Prochak: It is different. It has been a while since I played there. I am just trying to listen to what they are telling me and then fly around here and play ball.

What did you do the past couple of weeks to prepare to play safety?
Nick Prochak: I did some working out trying to keep my speed up and keep in shape. I am just trying to do what the coaches are telling me to.

What did you think about the visit to the hospital yesterday?
Nick Prochak: It was a great experience. It really put things in perspective. Everybody comes out here thinking this is about football, but it's really about those kids. It was a great way to put it in perspective and spend some time with the kids. Hopefully we can show them a good game on Saturday.

When do you think you will be ready to make a decision concerning where you'll play your college football?
Nick Prochak: I'd say I will probably make my decision in early January. I'm going to go on a few official visits. I think once I have taken a few of those I'll be able to decide.

Does the commitment of quarterback Chris Smelley to South Carolina have any impact on your decision?
Nick Prochak: No, it doesn't because they are still recruiting me as an athlete. I haven't talked with my parents yet. It's been a couple of days since that happened. I'll discuss it with them. I don't think it will have an effect.

What are your official visit dates right now?
Nick Prochak: Clemson is January 13. Vanderbilt is mid week and then South Carolina is January 20. Top Stories
